Music

We're doing our own music for the reception. Just a simple iTunes playlist of modern love songs and a few old favorites.

Catering

Because we are gluttons for punishment, we decided to add a second caterer with just two weeks to go. Apparently we were too content with having everything taken care of in advance and needed to shake things up a bit!

We already have cake and champagne service from Mandalay Bay, but we decided we wanted to add a couple of savory hors d'ourves so our guests won't go into sugar shock before night is over.

We ordered five cold appetizers from Creative Catering, Las Vegas, as well as plastic and paper. It had to be cold apps, as Mandalay Bay doesn't actually let outside vendors in the suite anymore, so we are going to get it to-go and serve it buffet-style ourselves.

The Menu:
- Blue Cheese Chicken Salad on Endive
- Coconut Curry Mini Spring Roll (vegetarian)
- Antipasto Skewers
- Chicken Caesar Pinwheels
- Vegetable Crudite Cup (vegetarian)

Lauren did a great job acquiescing to all our crazy requests and putting this together on such short notice, and with so many restrictions.

The Suits

Grady and his brother/best man went suit shopping at Men's Warehouse today. They got a pair of matching Kenneth Cole suits with an awesome tone-on-tone stripe.

They're going to shop elsewhere for ties and vests, so I'll just have to be surprised by those.

Dress Fitting

I went back to David's Bridal today for my dress fitting. My mom and my matron of honor came with me, along with a bottle of champagne.

I had to downgrade from an 18 to a 14, which was great for my self-esteem, but now I have to lose 10 pounds in the next two months!

Champagne and Cake Reception

Mom has booked the Vista Suite at Mandalay Bay to host a champagne and cake reception after the ceremony. The suite can host 65 guests, standing room only.

This is the "Passion" cake, provided by Mandalay Bay. The red roses and green greenery match my wedding flowers and colors.

The Dress

I bought this dress at David's Bridal in Athens, Georgia. Shelly was incredibly helpful and wonderful, and I owe her so much for keeping me sane and grounded. It turns out, she also sold my friend Stephanie her dress for her wedding last April! What a small world.
